Brief introduction
My real name is Emal AKA DJ WAFA. I was born in Kabul but I am originally from Logar. I moved from Afghanistan during 1980s. I graduated from high school in 2002 and I am currently taking business Administration at University of Manitoba I will be majoring in E-business next year which is my last year. I also play soccer in spare time for Jawanan e Afghan where I am the captain of the team also I do body building on my spare time. My future plans are to get a job as an e-marketing manager in future and work for couple years then open my own business.
What is your favourite music genre?
My favourite music genre is Afghani and Dancehall I also like to listen to hip hop, R&B and Reggaeton quit often. I love to listen to Afghani mast songs specially from singers such as HASIB ASHRAFI, SAID OMAR, and Hashmat.
Who is your favourite Afghan artist/band?
Although I like all my afghan singers they are all very talented but there are some that I like to listen to their music more than others like Farhad Darya, Said Omar, Hashmat, Hasib Ashrafi, Habib Qaderi, Faiz karzi, Amani and Jawid Sharif.
Who is your favourite non-Afghan artist/band?
My favourite non-Afghan artists would be Brian Mcknight, Bobby Valantino, Usher, Janet Jackson, 50cent, Chinggy, TI, Sean Paul, Elephant Man, Beanie Man, Fat Joe, Snoop Dogg, The Game, Alicia Keys , pitbull, Jay-z, Daddy Yankee, and the list goes on. From the bands I like G-unit crew, 112, and Destiny's Child.
Are you a musician?
I wouldn't consider myself a musician but I do live DJing in events such as wedding, concerts, after party's, club, and any other events. Right now I am planning to write my first rap song which will be coming out with my new mix tape this summer.
Do you also compose/write/remix songs?
I am in process of learning how to compose songs right now and I love to learn it. I am writing new rap song right now as I mention earlier it will be my first song and it will come out with my new mix tap this summer. I have few remixes for my new album.
Who is the most influential artist/band for you?/ To which artists did you listen growing up?
I would say Farhad Darya he is such a great artist and he compose, write songs for other artists. I have been listening to Farhad Darya's music for long time. Ahmad Zahir would be the next person, his music will always be alive.
Who is the most promising new Afghan artist for you?
Fared and Ghezali rappers from Calgary Canada, Hasib Ashrafi, Da Jokers, Jawed Sharif, Bobby Valantino and Mashonda.
What is your mission in life?
To make a lot of money and go on a world tour and enjoy my life with my family and Friends.
